Beauty of Joseon has just launched their new line called Glow Charging Rice Duo that includes a milky toner and a rice milk wash-off mask.
These 2 newbies come as a set in a adorable box (just look at that bunny!) and you can also find cute headband inside, which I think is a nice touch from the brand.
Beauty Of Joseon Rice Milk Toner & Wash-Off Mask – First Review
I’ve got the privilege to test out that toner and mask shortly after it was launched and I’d like to share my first impression with you.
Glow Replenish Rice Milk
New milky toner alert!
I know lots of you, my Beauties, love milky toners! So far I tried 2 popular ones and my experience was either terribly bad or just average, so… who knows! Third time’s a charm?!
In contrast to other milky toners I had, this one is watery and doesn’t have any viscosity. This means NO STICKY FINISH!
It contains rice extract and rice amino acids. There’s very gentle scent of rice milk, barely noticeable.
So far I tried it only one time and I was so impressed that it made my skin silky soft.
It aims to provide moisturizing and antioxidant effects, targets rough and dry skin, as well as acne-prone skin by helping to control sebum production and soothing the skin redness.
I’ll keep you posted on its long-term effects.
Ground Rice & Honest Glow Mask
This is a wash-off mask that claims to moisturize the skin, improve its texture and help with acne, plus it has a soothing effect.
This one smells like rice milk as well, but the scent is stronger. It’s tiny bit sweet – for me it smells just gorgeous! A bit like oatmeal.
My skin is sensitive and reactive so masks with large particles are a no-no for me. This one has very tiny particles.
I have already tried it once.
First impression: the particles feel okay! Some have a bit irregular shape so may sometimes be slightly more rough so when I was washing off the mask I tried to be gentle with my motions to avoid scratching my skin with those particles. But in general my skin tolerated it well. Zero redness or irritation!
I’ll let you know how my skin feels about this mask in a long term and if I notice any improvement in my skin texture.
The only thing I can complain about is that it contain Ethylhexyl Palmitate quite at the beginning of ingredients list (yes, I always check inci first!).
This ingredients tends to be pore-clogging, especially if your pores easily get clogged or your skin is prone to breakouts like mine!
Therefore, I plan on using this mask only once a week.
Stay tuned for my full review in a few weeks! In the meantime check out the video I posted on Instagram where I present these two goodies.
