Panthenol is one of those ingredients that my dry and sensitive skin loves. And when it was craving some extra soothing and hydration, I decided to try out the popular Some Mi By Beta Panthenol Cream.
After nearly 2 months, I finished that 50ml jar and I’m ready to share my thoughts on it with you.
And just for your information, I purchased it with my own money. Here’s my Some By Mi Panthenol Cream honest review – not sponsored it any way, it’s just my personal experience with it!
My Experience
Let me start by saying: I found a gem!
It is a perfect cream for skin like mine: fussy, moody and needy (meaning: prone to dryness, dehydration and irritation).
It has a fantastic thick consistency (way thicker than my other Panthenol cream from Purito which I LOVE) and I wish I had it during winter!
It provides A M A Z I N G hydration that stays super long, and works wonders for irritated skin with redness.
Because it’s so thick I think it may work better as a night cream. I love waking up with plump skin and honestly I feel all that hydrating even after 8hrs+ from application.
If I use Some By Mi cream during the day, it gives me nice dewy finish (that disappears obviously after some time), but I need to always wait quite long till it fully absorbs before applying spf. Not a big deal, but you should keep that in mind.
Overall I think it improved my skin’s condition (no dry patches, yaaay!). It helped me already twice to soothe mild irritation and redness from a product that my skin didn’t like.
PRO TIP: If you have dry skin, check out my full list of moisturizers for this type of skin that provide the best hydration.
And what’s important – it doesn’t break me out (and believe me, my face breaks out easily and my pores are very prone to getting clogged).
For summer I think I will switch to something lighter, and I will repurchase this beautie in autumn again (or whenever my skin needs some soothing).
By the way, that jar is 50ml and it can easily last for 2 months because a little goes a long way. I’ve been also using it for my hands sometimes!
Who Should Not Use Some By Mi Panthenol Cream
If you have oily skin it may feel a bit too thick or heavy.
And depending on your skin needs in summer, this might be too much as well. I always recommend more lightweight moisturizers, especially with gel consistency, for warmer weather.
PRO TIP: If your skin is reactive, prone to irritation or redness, I have for you this list of amazing Korean moisturizers for sensitive skin type. I picked the safest creams, that have simple, yet effective formulations, to lower the limit of bad reaction.
Ingredients Highlights
This blue jar is packed with lots of goodies for thirsty and irritated skin: panthenol, squalane, sunflower oil, shea butter and lots of peptides!
Important Things You Need To Keep In Mind
This cream contains at least 2 “heavy” ingredients: glyceryl stearate and shea butter. Both can be pore-clogging especially for acne-prone skin1,2.
